Department of Animal Production and Health has imposed a ban on the transportation of Cattle in the North Western Province to other areas and meat production or consumption, due to a rapidly spreading viral disease.
According to the Department, the lumpy disease has spread among 2,000 cattle in the province. “The lumpy disease is being reported in at least 39 out of the 47 MOH divisions of the North Western Province,” Director of the Department of Animal Production and Health of the North Western Province B.C.S Perera said.
