The Cabinet of Ministers noted yesterday (15) that two politicians of the Janata Vimukti Peramuna gave leadership to the disturbances near the Parliamentary access road on the 13th.

The Cabinet also discussed the video footage of Sunil Handunnetti and Lal Kantha, which appeared on social media on the day of the incident.

The Ministers have agreed to take stern action against anybody interfering with a Parliamentarian or trying to prevent him from proceeding to Parliament.

It has come to light that Parliamentarians also were trying to obstruct other MPs from attending Parliament.

The Acting President has informed the Cabinet that if a Member of Parliament obstructs another, Member law enforcement agencies will act accordingly to enforce the law.
