The Ministry of External Affairs says that the body of Priyantha Kumara Diyawadana, who was brutally beaten to death by a group of extremist barbarians in Pakistan, will be brought to Sri Lanka next Monday (06).
According to foreign media reports, Priyantha Kumara Diyawadana, who was the General Manager of Rajco Industries in Sialkot, Pakistan, was assassinated following a factory worker’s allegation that he had a blasphemic action.
Farhan Idris and Usman Rashid, members of the hardline political organization TPL, were blamed for his assassination.
He and 120 others have been arrested and 10 police teams have been deployed in Punjab to identify the culprits, Pakistani security forces said.
In a statement issued this afternoon, Punjab government spokesman Hassan Kawar said that the police had filed a case against the main accused Farhan Idris and Usman Rashid under terrorist charges.
