Kandy Additional Magistrate Mohammad Rafi dismissed the pending bail application submitted by the lawyers of PKRC Ranasinghe, the former principal of Katugastota St. Anthony Girls School, today (05). The principal was a suspect in the alleged incident involving the admission of students to middle classes using fake documents.

During the hearing on the 28th, the Additional Magistrate had announced that the verdict on the bail application would be delivered on the 5th. Consequently, Additional Magistrate Mohammad Rafi rejected the pending bail application.

The police informed the court that the principal had been in contact with an individual who was arrested based on statements given by parents regarding the preparation of fraudulent admission documents. Additionally, evidence provided by parents revealed that amounts ranging from 50,000 to 300,000 rupees had been paid to the principal for securing their children’s admission.

Following the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police Chamil Ratnayake, who oversees the Kandy Division, Chief Inspector WMS Uvindasiri and Police Sergeant Hettiarachchi, station commander of the Special Crime Investigation Division at Kandy Headquarters Police, presented the facts to the court.
