An investigation has started by the Police Head quoaters on Senior DIG of Sabaragamuwa province Ranmal Kodithuwakku in connection with a disrepute incident where he has allegedly assault a person Police sources said today.
The sources further said that investigation begun on the instruction of the secretary of Public security.
The officer had a dispute with a person who was driving a car when the DIG was travelling in his official vehicle in the Ratnapura area.
There is a video of the assualt now going on viral in social media clearly show the senior Police offier was assaulting the person and the victim was screaming and protesting saying police officer’s act of drunkenness.
The Police Headquarters has commenced investigations into the incident involving Ranmal Kodithuwakku, who is believed to have been involved in such disputes on several previous occasions.
