The clash between Ambangoda Ajith Soysa and Wasantha Soysa families have taken 06 lives so far according to the Police. In a bid to curb the series of these killings the Police have deployed a special team to nab the gunmen involved in those killings, Police said.
Of those 06 murders, five of them have happened within a period of almost six weeks.
As a special measure to stop the Ambalangoda killing chain, a group of skilled police officers who can hunt and counterattack have been selected and deployed under the Ambalangoda Police.
Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Southern Province Ajith Rohana stated that all necessary facilities have been provided to this group of officers and deployed to suppress these murders.
The police said that this special operation has been launched to arrest the murderers who are killing people in the open to ensure the right of the people to live without fear of suspicion.
