Attorney General Dappula De Livera has issued fresh guidelines to IGP for bail in respect of several offences in order to immediately reduce the remanded Population & Overcrowding in prisons AG’s coordinating officer Ms Nishara Jayarathna said. According to her, the AG has issued these guidelines at the request of the Secretary Ministry of Justice & Director General of Prisons in order to reduce the number of inmates as a step of control the spread of Covid 19.
