Activist Pathum Kerner released on bail

Activist Pathum Kerner who was in remand in connection with the recent incidents during a protest at Polduwa Junction was  released on bail by Colombo Additional Magistrate.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kekunawala ordered to release the suspect Dr Pathum Kerener on two sureties of Rs.500,000.

Pathum Kerner was produced before an identification parade and he was identified by one of witnesses.

However the Magistrate issued an order preventing the him from leaving the country.

The Additional Magistrate’s observation was  that there were no sufficient materials to charge the suspect under Public Property Act.

Rienzie Arseculeratne PC with counsel Chamindri Arseculeratne, Udara Muhandiramge and Thilina Punchihewa appeared for the suspect
