An altercation between two students at a school escalated to violence when one student hit the other with a helmet and his hand, resulting in injuries, including damage to the victim’s eye, according to a report from Pinwatta police.
The police have arrested a group of individuals, mostly youths residing in and around Pinwatta, Meegahakovila Road, and nearby areas. Among those apprehended are school students who were involved in the dispute.
The attack occurred on the September 21st afternoon while the victim was returning home from school, and the suspects had evaded the police for approximately ten days.
The police successfully arrested the group responsible for the attack and seized the helmet used in the assault. The suspects are expected to appear before the Panadura Magistrate after further investigation.
The apprehension of the suspects was conducted under the leadership of Station Commander (Web) Police Inspector VDS Lalith, with the cooperation of the Crime Branch officers.
