A sniffing dog leads all the way to the Ahungalla military camp to resolve a heinous crime

A police sniffing dog had entered an Army camp in Ahungalla after it was assigned to resolve a crime where a youth was killed by assailants on a motorcycle.

The dog has entered the military intelligence corps headquarters at Ahungalla, forcing the police to take into custody 36 firearms issued for the day.

A 29-year-old youth was gunned down while he was traveling with two small children on a motorcycle. The two assailants who shot him dead had also come on a motorcycle.

The shooting took place in the Middaramulla area of Ahungalla on the 14th of this month.

The victim was Ennadu Tharindu Nisansala de Silva (29), a resident of Ahungalla Middaramulla Amaramola Mawatha.

The official detective sniff dog who was deployed to uncover the root cause of this murder had entered the Army camp.

The police have also found the motorcycle that the killers are suspected to have used near the military intelligence corps headquarters.

Further investigations are conducted under the direction of Ahungalla Police Station Chief Inspector Harith.
