President Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed Norway’s former climate and environment minister Erik Solheim who was one time peace negotiator between Sri Lankan government and LTTE, as his international advisor on climate affairs.
Eric Solheim, who arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday (10), has been offered these position by the President after meeting President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (11).
Commenting on the meeting, Solheim said in a tweet that he has been appointed as the President’s International Climate Adviser along with the Speaker of the Maldives Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed.
