Police in Dehiwala are investigating a case where Mr Dixon J. Perera, a former Member of Parliament for Colombo District, was robbed of his money and gold ornaments by a masseur who held a knife to his neck.
The MP, who is currently in retirement, was visited by a young masseur regularly for a body massage. However, yesterday, he put a knife to the MP’s neck and ran away with nearly two hundred thousand rupees in cash and gold items from the house.
The ex-Parliamentarian is 76 years old and has been residing at Galwala Road, Dehiwala. According to the police, the value of stolen gold items exceeds one million rupees. Police investigations are currently underway to arrest the suspect.
