A youth was killed after being stabbed with a sharp object during a clash between the two persons who had come to get fuel last night. According to the police an altercation between two persons queuing for petrol at Horagolla in Nittambuwa has escalated into a murder.
The deceased has been identified as a 29 year old resident of the Grandpass area in Colombo 14 who had come to collect petrol for his motorcycle. According to the police, a three wheeler driver who was allegedly involved in the murder has fled the scene. The injured youth died after being admitted to the Wathupitiwala Hospital.
This was the third death reported near a fuel queue and two senior citizens died in Kadawatha yesterday and in Kandy the day before yesterday.
