An unidentified man relieved the passport and money bag of a Filipina tourist and escaped while she was standing near the wall behind the Galle Samanala Stadium.

This woman, a 34-year-old Filipina, was taking a phone call after placing her suitcase on the ground when four people walked up to her.

One of them picked up the money bag and ran away, while the others followed him towards the Rathgama Wella (beach).

In the suitcase belonging to the foreign woman, there was money: the passport, cash worth Rs. 90,000/=, 100 American dollars, and 200 Australian dollars.
