The house of civil activist and President of the Information Technology Association Rajiv Yasiru Kuruwitage, has been raided without a warrant by a group saying that they are from STF personnel dressed in civilian clothes, reports say.
It is said that they have searched his house saying that they have got a petition received by the Ministry of Defense that his house is a drug trafficking center.
Although the complaint was received stating that only the home address was mentioned, these group had paid special attention to Yasiru’s room.
The search team has declined to reveal about the person who made the compliant regarding him on the grounds of it would be a threat to national security. have also stated that the information regarding the complaint related to the raid could be a threat to national security as it is intelligence information.
Nothing was found during the search, and a special emergency press conference was held today to express the displeasure of the civil activists over the incident.
