Local residents near Moratuwa Lunawa railway station made a surprising discovery this morning (12) when they encountered an 8-foot-long crocodile on the highway.
According to witnesses, there were footprints near the crocodile, suggesting that it had crossed the railway tracks from the beach and reached the highway.
The local residents managed to capture the crocodile and promptly notified the site office at Bellanwila Atthidiya.
