Major General Vikum Liyanage has been appointed as the new Commander of Sri Lanka Army by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today. He will be the 24th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army and received the letter of appointment from the President this morning.
Accordingly Gen Vikum will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-General with effect from tomorrow.
