The 21st Amendment to the Constitution is due to be presented to the Cabinet for the fifth time today.
Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapaksa told Lankasara that the new amendment , which has been prepared taking into consideration the suggestions and views submitted by all parties, will be approved.
He said that such a draft should be done very carefully and accordingly the new draft amendment does not contain any facts that could lead to a referendum.
Minister Wijedasa Rajapaksa said that after the new amendment is passed in the Cabinet, it will be presented to Parliament for the approval.
Minister Rajapaksa further stated that seeing political stability in the country is a major aspiration both nationally and internationally and if the constitutional amendment is sabotaged for narrow aims, the country will face a serious crisis.
