The Director-General of the Employees’ Federation Kanishka Weerasinghe says that the services of nearly 150 factories have been disrupted following the declaration of the current curfew in the Gampaha district.
He has handed over the list of these factories to the Minister of Labor Nimal Siripala Silva.
The Minister has directed the Commissioner of Labor to inspect the relevant factory documents submitted by Weerasinghe and requested the trade union representatives to submit their views in this regard as well.
The Minister said that the reports would be submitted to him by next Monday (12) and after receiving the reports, the agreement on the payment of half-pay would be decided after discussions with both parties.
