A fifteen-year-old student, identified as S. Sadushan, tragically lost his life, while another student sustained serious injuries after being crushed under a tractor. This incident occurred in the Poovarasankulam Madukulam area of Vavuniya today (01) evening.
The accident unfolded as the two students were traveling on the tractor, which suddenly overturned, leading to both of them being crushed beneath it. The tractor rolled over, with its wheels ending up upside down.
Local residents came to their rescue and, with great effort, lifted the overturned tractor. They rushed the injured students to the Puwarasankulam Hospital.
However, the medical team at the hospital could not save Sadushan, and he was pronounced dead. The other injured student has been transferred to Vavuniya General Hospital for further medical attention.
The Poovarasankukkam police have initiated investigations into the incident.
