Over a thousand smart boards purchased for schools remain undelivered and stored in a warehouse in Paththalagedera, National People’s Power MP Kaushalya Ariyaratne revealed in Parliament yesterday.
MP Ariyaratne stated that the smart boards were received from China in February 2024, with the government allocating Rs. 1.5 billion for the initiative. However, due to the absence of a proper procedure to integrate the necessary technology, the boards remain unused, wasting valuable resources.

He further mentioned that the new government is currently discussing ways to effectively utilize these smart boards. Additionally, it has been discovered that many school buildings are in poor condition, and future decisions will be made after further discussions on the issue.
