Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne and Dr. Rohana Weerasinghe say that two popular singers Bathiya Jayakody and Santhush Weeraman have used their creations for commercial purposes without any permission.

They state that a song composed for Jackson Anthony’s film ‘Address Nae’ has been used by a company affiliated to Bathiya Jayakody and Santhush Weeraman to commit a serious intellectual property offence.

They have also lodged a complaint with the Osca Association. Accordingly, Bathiya and Santhush have pleaded admitted to the fact and Rohana Weerasinghe and Sunil Ariyaratne have demanded a compensation of one million rupees from them.

However, they state that Bathiya and Santhush are trying to evade without paying the relevant amount.
