Award-winning actor Suminda Sirisena is no more!

Award-winning Veteran actor Suminda Sirisena passed away in the early hours of this morning. He died while receiving treatments at a private hospital;l in Gampaha. Mr Sirisena was 75 years old at his demise.
Being a versatile actor Suminda has played a wide range of roles across the stage, films and teledramas and has received several awards including Best Actor. However, following a sudden illness, he had to stay away from acting for some years.
He was born in Boosella Village in Kegalle on 04th July 1948. After completing his primary school in the village he had an opportunity to be admitted to Tholangamuwa Central College.
He played pivotal roles in many stage and tele dramas as well as in films.

Sirisena’s debuted his teledrama acting life with Sihina Nimnaya teledrama telecasted in Sri Lanka Rupavahini. His role as Isaa in the teledrama Charitha Thunak is considered as a hallmark of his acting career. iconic Also he gained wide acclaim for his role as Hichchi Mahaththaya in his second teledrama Kumarihami. another Rupavahini production, Since then he has acted in more than 40 tele series.
Suminda’s maiden cinema was Dhululu Malak which ca,e in 1976. He acted in the role of “Upali”.
Funeral arrangements of the artist will be noticed later sources close to the family said.
