Royal Nursing Home (Pvt) Ltd was honoured with the prestigious title of Most Outstanding Private Ambulance Service of the Year at the Asia Miracle Awards 2025 ceremony held recently at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo. Established in 2007, Royal Nursing Home (Pvt) Ltd is now Sri Lanka’s largest and most prominent nursing home network, employing over 1,600 nursing staff. Its ambulance division holds the distinction of operating the largest fleet of private ambulances in the country.

In a remarkable demonstration of public service, Royal Nursing Home was also the only private healthcare institution in Sri Lanka to donate two fully equipped, ambulance each valued at over 50 million with intensive care facilities to the Ministry of Health at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. A notable moment during the awards ceremony was the decision, made in accordance with the vision of the company’s founding chairman, Mr. Manuja Hewawasam, to have long-serving company drivers represent the institution and receive the award on its behalf. This heartfelt gesture received widespread praise and admiration from all attendees.
