It is reported that the meeting of the Cabinet Ministers currently being held at the President’s House has taken a heated turn over the discussions of the resignation of Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister.

After a lengthy explanation Ministers Ramesh Pathirana, Prasanna Ranatunga and MP mahindananda Aluthgamage who was also present at the meeting have urged that the resignation of the Prime Minister is the best decision that can be taken at this time.

However Minister Wimalaweera Dissanayake had said that the resignation of the Prime Minister was not a logical decision.

Wimalaweera Dissanayake has strongly stated that it is not politically appropriate to sacrifice only the Prime Minister to the opposition of the entire government including the President.
