Manori Salley, the wife of retired Major General Suresh Salley, former Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS), and their son, Kushal Salley, visited the Maha Nayaka Theros of the Malwatte and Asgiri Chapters in Kandy yesterday (08).
The two arrived without prior notice to the media and are reported to have held a special discussion with the Malwatte and Asgiri Maha Nayaka Theros for more than an hour. During the meeting, Manori Salley also handed over a special letter to the Chief Prelates.

According to reliable sources, the letter requested the Maha Nayaka Theros to intervene and help ensure justice for Suresh Salley, who is currently in custody.
Suresh Salley has been named the third suspect in the investigations into the Easter Sunday bombings, one of the worst tragedies in Sri Lanka’s recent history, and was arrested on allegations of planning and orchestrating the attacks.
The controversy surrounding Salley, who has been detained and questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for nearly three months under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA), has intensified following the court’s decision to impose a travel ban on former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, drawing significant attention from political and security circles.
