Mullaittivu fishermen have started signing 10,000 postcards, urging the President to take immediate action to stop Indian fishermen’s illegal fishing activities in the northern seas.
Fishermen and their families, whose livelihoods depend on the fishing industry in the Mullaittivu district, are actively participating in this campaign.
The signed postcards will be collected in special boxes and handed over to the President through the Minister of Fisheries.

The postcards highlight the concerns over Indian fishermen engaging in destructive bottom trawling, which depletes fish stocks and destroys fish eggs and marine ecosystems.
The fishermen are requesting the President to intervene immediately, initiate discussions with the Indian government, and find a solution to the ongoing crisis
