The Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel announced that the body of Sujith Bandara Yatwara, the second Sri Lankan who was killed in the attack on Israel by Hamas militants on the 7th of last month, is being sent to Sri Lanka.
Ambassador Nimal Bandara said that Yatawara’s body will be taken to the embassy in the next two days, considering that he is an Israeli national who died in the war, and all the compensation received from the Israeli government will be received in the same way.

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel confirmed on Friday (3) that he was killed in an ambush during the Israel-Hamas war that broke out on October 7. The body was confirmed after a DNA test.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry had previously announced that Sri Lankan Sujith Bandara, who was said to have disappeared after the conflict with the Palestinian Hamas militants on October 7, is suspected to be among the hostages held by the Hamas militants.
The body of Anula Jayatilaka, was brought to Sri Lanka last Sunday (29).
