Mahela Jayawardena , The former Sri Lankan Captain has slammed the selection process of players for the second episode of Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2021 saying a country cannot move forward in cricket with one step forward while one step back.
Making a note on his Twitter handle Mahela Jayawardena says
“It is difficult for a country to move forward with one step forward and five steps behind. Sri Lanka Cricket should not forget that this is a local tournament that recognizes talent,” he said.
Kusal Janith Perera, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal and Dhananjaya de Silva as well as Akila Dhananjaya, Praveen Jayawickrama and Minod Bhanuka were not selected by any team in the selection process.
