A 42-year-old woman from Kawantissa Pura, Tissamaharama has been arrested by the local police for fatally assaulting her husband with a cricket bat following a family dispute.
The altercation between the couple escalated last night (17), leading the wife to strike her 47-year-old husband on the head with a cricket bat. Subsequently, the injured husband was rushed to Debarawewa Hospital but, unfortunately, passed away due to the severity of the injuries during treatment.
he woman was swiftly arrested by the Tissamaharama police and they have initiated further investigations into the incident.
