Wimal, Udaya in the verge of losing Cabinet positions!

Two leading cabinet ministers, Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpilaare in the verge of losing their Cabinet portfolios at the proposed forthcoming cabinet reshuffle, Political sources have revealed to Lankasara.

These two ministers are already in an ideological conflict with the main party of the government, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, and it has been proposed during the ongoing discussions regarding the cabinet reshuffle to be carried out in the next two weeks.

Although the entire cabinet reshuffle was scheduled to take place soon after the recent swearing-in of Basil Rajapaksa as Finance Minister, it has been decided to make it following the no-confidence motion of Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila, which is due to be taken up in Parliament on the 19th.

The strongmen of the SLPP are of the opinion that Gammanpila and Wimal, who represent minority parties, are attempting to bring the government under their control in an unusual manner and such efforts should be suppressed.
Discussions have also focused on the steps to be taken to keep the SLFP in their place instead of leaving the government, and it has been suggested in these discussions that it would be more effective to retain them by giving them responsible ministerial posts.
However, sources close to Lankasara said that no definite decision has been taken regarding the action to be taken against the two ministers and that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will also pay further attention to the amendments.
