The prelates of the three Buddhist chapters have expressed their displeasure over the President’s stand on the suggestions they submitted to alleviate the country from the current socio-economic imbroglio.
They allege that the President had failed to give a positive response to their suggestions and proposals despite assurances by him.
The prelates also allege that the President is doing party politics brushing aside the real problems.
Through the letter, the prelates have stressed the President stop his erratic political behaviour and act prudently to form an all-party government by bringing together all the parties for 06 months.
They have told the President that if he had shown some flexibility initially to their proposals, the country and the innocent people would not have gone through this disastrous suffering.
They point out that the government’s intention to suppress the voice of dissent instead of finding solutions to people’s problems is facing severe all-around condemnation. They said that in the circumstances, the government faced several hurdles in obtaining international aid for the benefit of the people.
Therefore, they inform that every representative of the people should understand the depth of this issue, renounce their positions, privileges, and power and stand up for the people’s right to live peacefully.
The prelates also invited them to work for the people without clinging to selfish and insensitive narrow political agendas.
