There will be some changes in the portfolios of a state minister who is a strongman of Viyathmaga organization will be taken place soon political sources said. These sources say that some actions pertaining to his current scope has been in the background of these changes.
This State Minister who came to Parliament for the first time through the Wayatmaga organization which played a crucial role in the appointment of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to the presidency, there has been a high level of attention regarding the austerity measures being taken under his purview.
There is also some dissatisfaction among the people of the district he represents regarding this Minister of State who is a professional and it is reported that the reason for this is that he has distanced himself from the people to some extent after the general election. The sources further revealed that the changes to the portfolio will be published in a special gazette notification this week.
Retired Admiral of the Navy, Minister of Public Security Sarath Weerasekara’s portfolio was recently curtailed, leaving the Department of Civil Defense and the Task Force under the purview of the President.
