Veteran journalist Sunil Madhawa bids adieu!

Veteran journalist Sunil Madhava Premathilaka passed away yesterday (23) afternoon.

Sunil Madhava Premathilake, the eldest son of veteran author and writer Meemana Premathilake, was 78 years old at the time of his death. An experienced journalist, he has authored a number of books, including The Cry for Freedom, The Child of Darkness, The Story of the Great Mohammed Ali, The Diary of a Truth Seeker, and a number of books that have been loved by Sri Lankan readers.

Also, the diary of a truth-teller written by Sunil Madhava made a new translation in the Sri Lankan journalism column art of the 80s and 90s. The eighth page he edited in the Divaina newspaper provided an example to the country of how a transformation of social thought can take place in the art of media.

Sunil Madhava was also an accomplished lecturer who mentored emerging journalists in the field of media.
