The process of issuing duty free vehicle permits to the Members of Parliament has commenced.Accordingly, preparations are being made to issue vehicle licenses to 79 newly elected Members of Parliament initially. Vehicle permits will be issued to the other members thereafter.
For this purpose, the salary particulars and other information of the MPs are being collected these days. The value of this vehicle license exceeds Rs. 20 million.As the importation of vehicles to Sri Lanka has been suspended at present, the Members of Parliament will have the opportunity to purchase vehicles from existing vehicles or to purchase new vehicles after the import ban is lifted.
