First-ever MP for Stratford and Bow Uma Kumaran’s husband Jacob who receives treatments after a TIA stroke Tuesday is now doing well Kumaran told in her X account.
Her Husband who is 39 got a sudden stroke on her first day of commons. After learning about him she has turned to the family and spent with his husband’s treatments she has further told.
Uma Kumaran, a young Tamil British Parliamentarian of Sri Lankan origin, was elected in the recent General election representing the newly formed Stratford and Bow.
Due to her husband’s unexpected illness, she missed swearing in as a Member of Parliament
Making a note on her X (Twitter) handle Uma says “My husband had a TIA stroke yesterday and is in hospital. Please bear with me during this time, and remember, acting FAST can save lives.”
She further told the residents of Stratford and Bow that she’ll be back in Parliament as soon as possible.
Uma Kumaran appreciated the dedicated service of NHS, especially the stroke unit of the hospital where her Husband Jacob receives treatments. Care at the stroke Unit has been incredible, she further noted.
According to the NHS, A transient ischaemic attack (TIA) is caused by a temporary disruption in the blood supply to part of the brain. It is called a “mini-stroke too.
The disruption in blood supply results in a lack of oxygen to the brain.
Although this causes sudden symptoms similar to a stroke, the effects last a few minutes to a few hours and fully resolve within 24 hours.
Uma, the MP also said in her X account that the past 24 hours have been the hardest for their lives. Finally, she highlighted that acting FAST can save lives.
