Two Women Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances in Kalutara

The Kalutara South Police reported the discovery of two deceased women under suspicious circumstances in a house located in Isuru Uyana, Kalutara.

The deceased individuals have been identified as 79-year-old M.G Pilipina Perera and 65-year-old B. Vaduge Mary Catherine Mandis, residents of No. 58 Isuru Uyana 1, Kalutara South.

According to police statements, the women had been residing in the house for approximately twenty years. Authorities suspect that they may have passed away about a week or two prior to the discovery of their bodies.

Local residents alerted the police after detecting a strong odor emanating from the vicinity of the house. Subsequent inspection revealed the bodies of the two women, one in a bedroom and the other in the kitchen.

Kalutara Division crime scene laboratory officers conducted investigations at the scene, with further inquiries to be conducted by the Magistrate. The Kalutara South headquarters police are currently leading the investigation into this incident.
