The Police has decided to take disciplinary action against any Policemen uploading photographs, videos on Tik Tok, Facebook and Youtube that would harm the reputation and good name of the Police.

Issuing a directive, the Acting IGP said it has come to the notice of the Police hierarchy that Police officers have been uploading such content while in uniform and has drawn widespread criticism and has also harmed the reputation of the law enforcement organization.

Accordingly the Acting IGP said instructions have been given to the CID, Police Special Branch, Police Media Unit and the Police IT division to monitor such activities of Policemen on social media and report on it.

The Acting IGP noted in the directive that severe action will be taken against any officer found acting in such a manner. The responsibility of taking action against any offending Policemen will be on the supervising senior officer. The directive also noted that severe action could be taken against such officers and could even result in their dismissal from the Police force.
