Tighten Colombo security and enforce the law against Protesters – A top cop instructs

A Western Province Police Chief who contacted all the police chiefs in charge of Colombo and suburb security has given instructions to strengthen the security of Colombo again even with road barriers again sources said.
The Police chief who was in an unidentified location has conducted the meeting this morning via Zoom technology.
Also, instructions have been received that the law should be strictly enforced regarding the protesters who are currently occupying the President’s House and the Temple House.

Internal sources of the police say that the Defense Secretary, Police Minister and the Chief of Police of the Western Province are staying at the hotel in Katunayake area and giving this order.

It is known that the three of them stayed together yesterday. Reliable sources reveal that this police chief is currently handling the power of the police with political protection, overriding the Inspector General of Police.

Meanwhile Protesters who occupy Presidential sectratariat said today at a press conference that they will not move away untill the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa hands over the resignation and declare his exit.
