The Mannar police have arrested three youths yesterday (14) who were involved in the incident of raping a 17-year-old girl by taking her to a garage on a highway in Mannar.
When the police arrested the three men it was found that they took turns raping the young woman, last Thursday (12) and recorded and photographed the incident with a mobile phone.
The three arrested youths are 17, 18 and 23 years old residing in Periyakkam area of Mannar, and the main suspect is a 23 year old youth working in a garage. The young man raped the girl several times and robbed the girl of 2000 rupees.
The young woman who was severely gang-raped has been admitted to Mannar Hospital for treatment and she is still receiving treatment in the hospital.
The Mannar police have taken steps to produce the suspects before the Mannar court.
