A type of hybrid liquid fertilizer will be imported from Chinese fertilizer company , Quingdao Seawin Biotech who sent pathogenic fertilizer to Sri Lanka , Agriculture Secretary DMLD Bandaranaike said.
The Secretary has stated this at a discussion held between the experts of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution, agriculture specialists and the heads of the Ministries recently.
The Secretary has not elaborated on whether these hybrid fertilizers, which are said to be imported as organic fertilizers, contain concentrated chemical constituents and are organic.
When contacted, industry experts said that it was not yet clear what action would be taken in re-importing the fertilizer in connection with the compensation paid to Qingdao Seawin Biotech Company.
