Registrar of the Teldeniya District Magistrate’s Court has been arrested by Bribery or Corruption Commission yesterday over a bribery incident. It is reported that she has arrested the on a charge of accepting a bribe.
The lady registrar is due to be produced before the Kandy Magistrate’s Court today (18).
She was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 to expedite a property ban on court orders.
The Anti-Bribery and Corruption Commission states that the Registrar was arrested while accepting a bribe following a complaint by a retired naval officer.
