The fiscal officer of the Colombo Commercial High Court has been interdicted following instructions by the Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapaksa .
The instructions were issued in connection with the detention of a Russian Aeroflot aircraft at the Katunayake airport on Saturday due to a personal legal dispute.
Minister Wijedasa Rajapaksa said that the fiscal officer had been accused of abusing his powers in connection with the enjoining order issued against the airline.
The Minister of Justice has pointed out that it is appropriate to take action against the accused lawyer in connection with the incident.
The Aeroflot flight, which had been detained in Sri Lanka since Saturday, had left for Moscow yesterday.
Following the incident, Russia expressed its concern to the Sri Lankan government over the sudden detention of one of its major airlines. He then requested the local authorities to intervene to resolve the matter.
