The impending cabinet reshuffle will only take place once a group of members from the SJB (Samagi Jana Bala Wegaya) have crossed over to the government.
Although the cross-over had been scheduled for the 28th, the prevailing situation in the country had held them back, informed sources said.
A group led by UNP Chairman Vajira Abeywardena has been engaged in a round of negotiations in order to lure them into the government fold.
The government, which believes that it will be successful, has planned to reshuffle the cabinet as soon as this group makes its way to the government.
The new cabinet will include a group of Pohottuwa stalwarts, including Johnsaton Fernando and Rohitha Abeywardena.
