Tea growers to get chemical fertilizer – Plantation minister!

The government is behaving in such a manner where it should be flexible regarding fertilizers and that chemical fertilizers are being imported for tea cultivation, Minister of Plantation Industries Ramesh Pathirana said in Parliament today .

He was responding to a question raised by Samagi Jana Balawega MP Lakshman Kiriella in Parliament today.

The Minister said that this year’s the highest export crop income in history will be received this year

“Our forecast for the country last year was 280 million kilos of tea compared to last year. That amount has already been exceeded. 310 million kilos are expected this year. “ The Minister said that rubber, coconut and agro export crops will receive the highest export earnings in history this year.
