The Ministry of Education has announced that the Suraksha Insurance scheme for school children will continue to ensure their health and protection.
Accordingly, those who have not applied for the insurance scheme can now hand over duly filled applications to the relevant Zonal education office.

Last week there were worries that the scheme has been canned after the contract signed with the relevant insurance provider and government lapsed. The company had stopped accepting applications for the scheme on a directive issued by the Ministry until a decision was made. However, the government has now decided to continue with the scheme.
