Major General (Retd.) Sumedha Perera, who was appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Mahaweli, Rural Development and Irrigation by the President, has resigned from his post yesterday (19).
He forwarded his resignation to the minister yesterday morning. According to ministry sources, the resignation comes after ongoing disputes and differences of opinions with Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
Major General (Retd.) Sumedha Perera is a renowned administrative officer. He also held the rank of Chief of Staff in the Army.
