Officials discovered mobiles phones and other unauthorized equipment in the prison cell of underworld figure Mohamed Najeem Mohamed Imran alias Kanjipani Imran yesterday (06). The discovery was made during a raid at the Boossa Prison. The special raid was carried out by the Police Special Task Force (STF).

According to sources, the items were found hidden in the ceiling of the cell. The STF personnel found one smartphone, a normal mobile phone, 2 SIM cards, a phone charger, and a hands-free device in the cell.

In September last year, six people were arrested for providing two mobile phones to Kanjipani Imran. Among the arrested were Kanjipani Imran’s 65-year-old father, his 28-year-old brother, and relatives of Kanjipani Imran’s wife.

Officials at the time detected two mobile phones and two chargers concealed in the food brought for the underworld figure.
