A letter circulating on social media from the State Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation in which the private secretary to the State Minister Seetha Arambepola requesting a list of items for the State Ministers use has caused a social media storm. Among the items requested were an Iphone, Ipad, Dragon light, Umbrella, and a VIP light.
The letter was widely shared on social media last night, causing the State Minister’s Media Secretary to issue an immediate clarification. According to the clarification, the list of items was not for the purchase of new equipment but for the equipment used by the previous State Minister. However, the claim has also caused a stir as the State Ministry is a newly formed government agency and therefore did not have a previous State Minister.
