The number of Covid 19 patients reported on a daily basis has surpassed the predictions made by the much-criticized American health data analysis arm, Institute for Health Data and Analysis (IHME) affiliated with the University of Washington making controversial predictions about Sri Lanka.
According to those data forecasts, the number of covid deaths reported in Sri Lanka on a daily basis on August 4 was 47. However, the real number of covid deaths in Sri Lanka doubled to 94 on that day, the doctor pointed out.

According to the IHME Scientific Analysis, the daily number of Covid deaths in Sri Lanka on August 3 was 47, while the Director-General of Health Services confirmed that the number of deaths on that day was 76. Although the IHME projections showed 94 deaths would be reported on September 13th, the target has been reached less than a month earlier.
According to IHME data, the peak of Sri Lanka’s daily deaths will be reached in Sri Lanka is October 10.

IHME projects that the highest number would be 267 deaths. The agency has forecast a total of 9487 Covid deaths in Sri Lanka as of November 1st.
As of that date, the daily number of Covid deaths in the country is 181.
However, the number of deaths in Sri Lanka on a daily basis is now approaching 100 per cent, and if the authorities, as well as the public, do not manage responsibly, the covid epidemic in Sri Lanka could reach catastrophic levels beyond these predictions, he added.
